Thursday, January 13, 2022, was a momentous day in Prince Dapo Abiodun’s history as the Governor of Ogun State. With the news of Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR) illustrious achievements spreading across States and Nations, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) paid a courtesy visit to the State to feel the transformation in the Gateway State and also to commission some of the State’s new projects.
These projects include the Ijebu Ode-Mojoda-Epe Road, a 14km stretch that will create the much-desired ease of commuting for motorists plying the road. The highway creates a closer proximity to some key business areas such as the Lekki Deep Sea Port, New Dangote Refinery, Lekki Free Trade Zone, and South-Eastern and Northern parts of the country. The President also commissioned the Gateway City Gate, an iconic monument that depicts the ingenious characteristics of the Ogun State indigenes. Other projects commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari include the Kobape Low-Cost Housing Estate, a residential area with over 300 units of affordable flats. The King’s Court, an estate with about 83 units of duplexes, was also commissioned by the President. In addition, the 42km Sagamu-Siun-Abeokuta Interchange connects the state capital to major cities.

This array of projects is coming in just about two years after Prince Dapo Abiodun came into office as the Executive Governor of Ogun State. Hitherto this period, his government has commissioned a couple of projects strategically positioned to transform Ogun State into a foremost investment hub locally and internationally. This move is because of the State government’s developmental agenda under the ISEYA pillar.

ISEYA is the developmental benchmark from which the Ogun State government, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun, is looking to harness Ogun State’s economic potential. The developmental pillars seek to cover Infrastructure, Social Welfare and Wellbeing, Education & Human Capital Development, Youth Empowerment, and Agriculture & Food Security. The government intends to achieve these mainly by driving reforms within its government institutions, touching its judicial system, civil service activities, public sector, energy, and financial aspects. The Ogun State Government will also achieve the ISEYA agenda by revamping its fiscal policy, especially related to the following: Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Tax, Land Use, Digital Transformation, Housing, and Energy. Another pivotal move intended by the Ogun State Government is to encourage Public-Private participation through its agencies and initiatives.
